Our real secret weapon were the young girls, Becca and Sally. Their energy was a draw for the spirits. They did catch a man’s voice on the EVP recording they did in the basement. Wherever they were, the energy was dramatic. <more>

The moon was full and the evening was warm and comfortable for an October night. The biggest danger that beset our group was the cow pies. The abandoned farm house’s yard was now a pasture and the large black and white cows lay in the tall unattended grass that surrounded the hundred year old house. <more>

It was 7:00 pm, in pre-dusk glow from the setting sun mirrored the excitement that radiated in the thick summer air as I parked outside the trendy restaurant One Eleven Main in Galena, IL. In all honestly I did not know what to expect this evening. I had read how haunted the old building was supposed to be. Based on reports from other ghost hunting groups, I decided to find out for myself. I made a call to the owner, a very nice man with a delightful Irish accent, who was gracious enough to allow us to investigate. <more>

About an hour away from Dubuque, IA is the small village of Strawberry Point. On the outskirts of this town is a small park, called Mossy Glen. Mossy Glen is reported to be one of the most haunted locations in Iowa. Rumored to have no less than five noted ghosts its history is full of murder and deceit. <more>

It was about eight o'clock and dusk was approaching when we got to St. Catherine's Cemetery. A small well kept graveyard next to the Catholic Church, in a tiny Iowa farm town. Here many of my relatives are buried. My family history has a murder-suicide. It occurred nearly eighty years ago and we were there to see, hear or feel if the two involved were at peace. <more>

Arriving at about eight in the evening, we parked near the historic church that is over a hundred years old. Deciding to walk around the town to check the location, we traveled one square block and took in the whole village. The homes that were occupied were very well-kept the abandoned ones were over-grown, and to be quite honest many of these buildings you wouldn't even have known they were there, the weeds, trees and vines were taking back the land. <more>
